Last updated: 24 April 2026
1. Overview These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of patternatelierstudio.com (the "Site") and any purchases made through it. By accessing the Site or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
2. Products Pattern Atelier Studio sells digital sewing patterns and physical printed patterns. Digital products are delivered electronically and are non-returnable once downloaded. Physical products are subject to our Return & Refund Policy.
3. Digital Downloads Upon purchase of a digital pattern, you will receive a link to download your file. Licences are granted for personal use only. You may not reproduce, redistribute, resell, or share the files. Commercial use requires a separate licensing agreement — please contact us to discuss terms.
4. Pricing & Payment All prices are listed in GBP (£) and are inclusive of applicable VAT where required. We reserve the right to update pricing at any time. Payment is processed securely via Shopify Payments.
5. Intellectual Property All patterns, designs, images, and content on this Site are the intellectual property of Pattern Atelier Studio. Unauthorised reproduction or use is strictly prohibited.
6. Accuracy of Information We make every effort to ensure product descriptions and images are accurate. However, we reserve the right to correct errors and update information without notice.
7. Limitation of Liability To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pattern Atelier Studio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our products or Site.
8. Governing Law These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
9. Changes to Terms We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site following any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Contact For any questions regarding these Terms, please contact us via the contact information provided on our Site.
11. Freelance & Drafting Services
11.1 Scope of Work Where Pattern Atelier Studio provides bespoke pattern drafting, grading, or technical design services ("Services"), the scope, deliverables, and timeline will be agreed in writing prior to commencement. Any work outside the agreed scope will be quoted and approved separately before proceeding.
11.2 Revisions Each project includes one (1) round of revisions at no additional charge. A revision round is defined as a single consolidated set of feedback submitted in writing following delivery of the draft. Feedback must be provided within 21 days of delivery; after this period the draft will be considered approved.
Revisions are limited to adjustments within the original agreed scope — such as fit corrections, seam allowance changes, or minor grading adjustments. Requests that materially alter the brief (including new pattern blocks, additional views, or significant design changes) fall outside the scope of a revision and will be quoted as new work.
11.3 Approval & Sign-Off You are responsible for reviewing all deliverables carefully. Once you have provided written approval (including by email), the work is considered final and accepted. Pattern Atelier Studio accepts no liability for errors identified after sign-off.
11.4 Intellectual Property Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Pattern Atelier Studio retains full intellectual property rights over all patterns, blocks, and technical drawings created during the provision of Services. Upon receipt of full payment, you are granted a non-exclusive licence to use the deliverables for the purpose specified in the project brief.
Where full IP transfer is required (e.g. for commercial production or resale), this must be agreed in writing and will be subject to an additional fee.
11.5 Confidentiality Both parties agree to keep confidential any proprietary information shared during the project. This obligation survives the completion or termination of the project.
11.6 Payment Terms A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total project fee is required before work commences. The remaining balance is due upon delivery of final files, prior to release of any deliverables.
Invoices are issued in GBP (£) and are payable within 7 days of the invoice date. Pattern Atelier Studio reserves the right to pause or withhold work where payment terms are not met. Final deliverables — including all pattern files, technical drawings, and associated documents — will not be released until the account is settled in full.
For larger or multi-phase projects, a staged payment schedule may be agreed in writing prior to commencement, replacing the standard deposit structure above.
11.7 Cancellation If you cancel a project after work has commenced, any deposit paid is non-refundable. You will be invoiced for work completed up to the point of cancellation, calculated at the agreed day or hourly rate.
1.8 Business-to-Business (B2B) Engagements Where Services are provided to a business client — including brands, manufacturers, retailers, or other commercial entities ("Business Client") — these Terms apply as a baseline. However, Pattern Atelier Studio strongly recommends, and may require, that a separate Service Agreement or Master Services Agreement (MSA) is executed prior to commencement of work.
A B2B Service Agreement will supersede these Terms where there is any conflict, and will typically cover:
- Detailed project scope, milestones, and deliverables
- Technical specifications and file format requirements
- Grading and size range parameters
- Production-ready pattern standards and tolerances
- IP ownership, transfer terms, and permitted use
- Confidentiality and non-disclosure obligations
- Dispute resolution and governing law
Until a separate agreement is signed, these Terms govern the engagement in full.
Pattern Atelier Studio reserves the right to decline projects where a Business Client is unwilling to enter into a formal written agreement for complex or high-value work.
